Application Areas of Auger Flights

Auger flights are widely use. They can be applied to industries such as metallurgy, agriculture and animal husbandry, waste recycling, environmetal protection and ect. The function of auger flight conveyors is to replace manual handling of goods. In some industries with special environments, high temperatures or corrossion, auger flight conveyors are needed to replace manual handling. Therefore, with the development of industry, the scope of using auger flights has gradually increased.

The common function of auger flights is transportation, horizontal distance transportation or low to high. In the grain processing industry, the stacked grain is loaded from the horizontal ground into the transport vehicle, which requires a screw conveyor, which is fast, convenient and efficient. In the grain processing process, it needs to be dried firstly, and when entering the dryer, a screw conveyor needs to be used to transport it to high-temperature dryer bin. Auger flights are also used during the heating process. Two auger flights are distributed in the silo, one left-handed and one right-handed, rotating left and right to complete the mixing work.
In agriculture and forestry, the use of auger flights can also be seen, such as digging machines. With the popularization of industrial modernization, digging tree pits and installing photovoltaic piles no longer require manual excavation, but use more modern digging machinery. One end of the machine is a long shaft with auger flights welded on the shaft. The auger flight rotates to bring the underground soil and gravel to the ground and travel deep pits. Using auger flights to dig pits is efficient and saves labor. The spiral drill rod used for photovoltaic piles also welds the auger flights on the shaft, welds the drill bit in the front, and drives the spiral shaft to rotate through power in the back. It can drill deep into the ground and fix photovoltaic equipment.
Other processing industries also often use auger flights. Mixing food raw materials with auger flights will save a lot of time and power. Since the contact area between the auger flights and the materials is small, the resistance will be smaller, so the pwer will be more economical.
